Gerben Kompagnie

"For we live by faith, not by sight." (2 Corinthians 5:7)

Gerben Kompagnie has been relationship manager of ECM Netherlands since September 2022.

For almost 22 years, Gerben was an ICT professional at various companies. Gerben was active in the telecom sector, gas trading, retail and air traffic. He ended his IT career as a Cloud (Azure) DevOps Engineer at one of the largest IT service providers in the world.

After his conversion in 2017, Gerben knew he had been given a different calling, but was allowed to 'wait' for another five years before he heard from God that he could quit his job in trust. In April 2022, God spoke to Gerben, through his brother, saying, "Quit your job next week and I will help you." At that moment, Gerben was allowed to quit his job in confidence. After this, God guided it so that he could start at ECM Netherlands a few months later.

Gerben deals with relationship management, fundraising and everything else needed to support the missionaries. The text in 2 Corinthians 5:7 will be characteristic in his work for ECM Netherlands.

Gerben is married to Kirsten and together they have three children: Joran, Sanne and Lise. They live in Assen and are active in house circles and house church.
