1 Peter 1:3 (NIV) "Praise be to the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."
Like many Austrians I grew up attending the local Roman Catholic church in our village of 700 people. Through a Christian kids' camp I first heard that we can have a personal relationship with God. After a while I started going to an evengelical church and grew in my understanding of the gospel and of my need for Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. After some years serving in that church, one of the leaders there encouraged me to consider studying at a Bible College and so I came to study at Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC) for two years. I am engaged to Benni who is also at a Bible school seeking to equip himself to serve God. We plan to get married in 2019 and serve the people of Austria together.
Many people have grown up in a traditionally Catholic environment and think they know what it means to be a Christian. However, many have never heard the gospel. They also fell they have everything they need, so many aren't even interested in Christianity.
Studying at Bible college has confirmed my conviction that God wants all peoples to know Him and that there is a great need for gospel workers in Austria. As an Austrian, I have the advantage of already knowing the culture and language. I would love to see many Austrian come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and many Christian grow in their relationship with Him.
