Colin & Alison Holmes
We wish to see believers living in a way that persuades those who think religion does more harm than good that the gospel really is good news. We also want to see many people receiving the welcome Jesus has extended in the gospel, as it is warmly expressed by local churches
Colin and Alison Holmes are part of a Church Planting team based in Ferrybank, Waterford, Republic of Ireland.
In a country where it has been said, "God is missing but not missed" it is our desire to live out the full life Jesus alone can give (John 10.10) and show people just what they are missing! Our passion is to share not only the gospel with others but our lives as well (1 Thessalonians 2.8) So we seek in our ordinary, everyday lives to come alongside others and as we travel together to share Jesus with them. It is our joy to do this as part of a team and church family who support one another in this task and so we equip and encourage others in their walk with Christ, just as they support us. As we encounter the darkness our desire is to shine with the light Jesus gives (Matthew 5.13-16). We long to see believers living every day in a way that resembles Jesus and makes him attractive to others.
We enjoy being part of a church family that is committed to kids and youth ministry and has a vision to see them grow up into the church of the future and have contributed to this in various ways.
We also enjoy the diversity of our small, yet growing, church family and the welcome that is extended to everyone regardless of where they are from. We long to see others receive the welcome Christ has graciously extended to us in the gospel. (Romans 15.7)
Alison loves walking alongside other Mums and friends and supporting and caring for others in team and church and beyond. She also enjoys baking with the kids (and even more without them!) and going to her monthly book club.
Colin loves preaching God's word and leading team and church family to reach out with the gospel with hope and courage. He also works as a community pharmacist part-time. He enjoys sports of many kinds (watching more than playing these days), reading (especially biographies) and cooking new things.
